Jim Flora Art is offering a limited-edition, archival-quality screen print of the renowned Jim Flora 1955 Mambo for Cats RCA Victor album cover. Produced in an edition of 200 (and 25 proofs) by Minneapolis print and design studio Aesthetic Apparatus, the prints were created using Jim Flora archivist Barbara Economon's digital restoration of a vintage printer's proof. They measure 20" x 20" (much larger than the album version), and use three acrylic screen printing inks meticulously matched to Jim Flora's original colors on archival 100-pound off-white cover stock. Each print is numbered on the front and authenticated on the reverse with stamped seals from Jim Flora Art (a Flora family enterprise) and Aesthetic Apparatus. The trademark "Flora" signature, which did not appear on the original LP cover, has been added in the lower right to "brand" the work. We have sold 197 (of 200) numbered edition prints, as well as 18 (of 25) proofs. Only ten (10) prints remain, and we are offering the next three at a price of $300 each. After these prints are sold, prices for remaining stock will increase. Once the edition sells out, we will no longer offer this work in a large screen print format. Great effort is made to ensure the quality and craftsmanship of each print. Given the organic nature of the screen printing process, small spots or specks are often present on some prints. However, such minute imperfections are common and do not detract or distract from the image itself. The print will ship flat, securely packaged and guaranteed against bending or dents. If it arrives damaged, it will be replaced. Due to the fine art print's higher-resolution process, as well as superior paper, inks, and quality control, the colors in the print appear brighter, crisper, and more vibrant than the online image. Online color appearance may vary slightly depending on your monitor settings.
