JimFlora.com has released a limited-edition, archival-quality fine art print of a classic Jim Flora album cover illustration. The original Lord Buckley album, entitled Hipsters, Flipsters, and Finger-Poppin’ Daddies, Knock Me Your Lobes, was released on RCA Victor in 1955. Vintage copies of the LP (which was packaged in a 10″ sleeve) are rare and fetch high prices from collectors (fans of both Lord Buckley and Flora).
Produced in 2007 by Flora archivist Barbara Economon, the print was meticulously crafted from a mint-condition artist’s proof sheet of the Buckley cover in the Flora collection. The image area is 11-1/2″ square (larger than the original RCA 10″ album) on a 19″ x 13″ untrimmed sheet.
Only ten (10) prints were produced for this edition. Each print is hand-numbered in the lower right corner beneath the image and authenticated on the reverse with the stamped seal of Jim Flora Art LLC (a Flora family enterprise).
Print numbers 1/10 thru 10/10 have been purchased; the edition is now sold out and no longer available as a fine art edition in wall display-sized format. Flora’s Lord Buckley cover art may later be offered in reduced form in print items such as cards, calendars or folios, or commissioned as exclusive, premium-priced, custom-formatted single prints produced privately at our discretion.
The sale price of the final print was $450.00. Edition prints in private hands might appear on the secondary market, but we do not arrange such offerings and will not be personally involved in secondary sales.
The unframed prints are on heavyweight (310g) mould-made William Turner stock, a natural white, 100% rag paper with a fine toothy surface manufactured by Hahnemühle, who are renowned for premium-grade archival papers. The edition was produced on an Epson 3800Pro large format printer using Epson UltraChrome K3 Pigment Ink Technology, resulting in brilliant, velvety color and offering excellent longevity and durability.
The print will ship flat, securely packaged and guaranteed against bending or dents. Print includes a detailed, custom-printed one-sheet with instructions for the proper care of this fine art reproduction.
Due to the fine art print’s higher-resolution process, as well as superior paper, inks, and quality control, the colors in the print appear brighter, crisper, and more vibrant than the online image. Online color appearance may vary slightly depending on your monitor settings.
