A Clowder of Cats

mid-1990s pen & ink on paper
open edition mini-prints

$30.00

Description

A Clowder of Cats, one of our open-edition $25 mini-prints, depicting a sextet of frolicking kitties, was adapted from an undated, untitled, and unsigned pen & ink drawing by Flora. The style and format of the work clearly points to the 1990s, after Flora  had retired from the commercial art world and was creating new works every day. Countless drawings were rendered by Flora in pen and black ink during this decade.

The mini-print artwork is approximately 6″ x 9″ on an untrimmed 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet. The prints were produced using Flora archivist Barbara Economon’s digital restoration of the artist’s original. The prints are on heavyweight (310g) mould-made William Turner stock, a natural white, 100% rag paper with a fine toothy surface manufactured by Hahnemühle, who are renowned for premium-grade archival papers. The edition was produced on an Epson 3800Pro large format printer using Epson UltraChrome K3 Pigment Ink Technology, offering sharp resolution and assuring excellent longevity and durability.

This is an open, unnumbered edition. Each print is authenticated on the reverse with a stamped seal from Jim Flora Art (a Flora family enterprise). Because the original was unsigned, we have affixed a period Flora signature to officially brand the work. The title, A Clowder of Cats, was chosen to differentiate the work from other untitled Flora works. The title does not appear with the image; however, it is noted on the back within the stamped seal.

The unframed prints are priced at $30 each. The print will ship flat via USPS. If it arrives damaged, it will be replaced. We offer discounts for quantity purchases; please inquire before ordering.

Due to the fine art print’s higher-resolution process, as well as superior paper, inks, and quality control, the print resolution appears brighter, crisper, and more vibrant than the online image. Online appearance may vary slightly depending on your monitor settings.
