JimFlora.com has issued a fine art print of the cover of THE DAY THE COW SNEEZED, Flora’s second children’s book. Originally published in 1957 by Harcourt, the book was reissued in 2010 by Enchanted Lion. Our print features the complete cover art (used on both editions), including Flora’s hand-cut letters.
The print artwork is 9-1/2″ x 7″ (slightly smaller than the book cover) on an untrimmed 11″ x 8-1/2″ sheet. (The pin-line border surrounding the above image does not appear in the print.) This is an open, unnumbered edition. Each print is authenticated on the reverse with a stamped seal from Jim Flora Art (a Flora family enterprise).
The prints were produced using Flora archivist Barbara Economon’s digital restoration of a mint-condition cover, with colors meticulously matched to the original. The prints are on heavyweight (310g) mould-made William Turner stock, a natural white, 100% rag paper with a fine toothy surface manufactured by Hahnemühle, who are renowned for premium-grade archival papers. The edition was produced on an Epson 3800Pro large format printer using Epson UltraChrome K3 Pigment Ink Technology, resulting in brilliant, velvety color and offering excellent longevity and durability.
The unframed prints are priced at $30 each. The print will ship flat via USPS. If it arrives damaged, it will be replaced. We offer discounts for quantity purchases; please inquire before ordering.
Due to the fine art print’s higher-resolution process, as well as superior paper, inks, and quality control, the colors in the print appear brighter, crisper, and more vibrant than the online image. Online color appearance may vary slightly depending on your monitor settings.
